ESPRIT's
involvement in Motorsport
began in 1995 with P.C.A. Automotive
who ran 2 x J220 Jaguars. Our Motorsport Manager COLIN ELLARD
carried out extensive repairs at their workshops and as
a result they asked if he would accompany them as a team
member to the 1995 Le Mans 24hr race.
Leading
up to the race ESPRIT offered its services to the other teams
in the Pit Lane and as a result of the many repairs carried
out ESPRIT became recognised as the leading Windscreen Repair
company in motorsport.
During
the 1996 season, Colin on behalf of ESPRIT became a team
member of DAVID PRICE RACING who ran the HARRODS and WEST
McLarens in the B.P.R. GT championship and travelled all
over Europe repairing their windscreens and as a result
reduced the teams windscreen bill by 90% compared to their
1995 season.
Also
during 1996 ESPRIT were involved in our own domestic Sports
Car series the Privilege GT Championship with the 1995 Le
Mans 24hr winning team LANZANTE MOTROSPORT who also ran
a McLaren F1 GTR for Ian Flux and Jake Ulrich.
To
add to Colin's busy schedule in 1996 he was invited to join
the works HONDA team for the Spa 24hr saloon car race and
once again ESPRIT equipment was put to use in the Spa pit
lane repairing many windscreens.
For
the 1997 season, ESPRIT joined PARABOLICA MOTORSPORT who
ran the new long tail version of the McLaren F1 GR in the
FIA GT series as well as the Le Mans 24hr race.

Le Mans 24hr race with the SEIKEL No. 83 car which was a
fantastic result for a private team.
2001 Colin
will be staying with SEIKEL MOTORSPORT for the 2001 season
which kicks off in February with the Daytona 24hr race.
Joining the SEIKEL team in Daytona will be Steve Johnson,
